Publisher's Synopsis
Skin cancer is rapidly approaching epidemic proportions. Various modalities are employed for the treatment of cutaneous malignancies, including cryotherapy, electrosurgery, excision and suture closure, radiation therapy and MOHS micrographic surgery. The MOHS procedure combines surgery with pathological analysis of renowned tissue to trace and ensure full elimination of skin cancer down to its roots. It is unique because it removes all of the cancer and only the cancer. It provides the highest cure rate (up to 99%) and also results in the least cosmetic impact.
Until now, too few physicians have been trained in this tissue-saving technique, as it has not been taught outside of fellowships sponsored by the American College of MOHS Surgery. This full-colour book addresses this lack of instruction. It details the techniques of MOHS Surgery allowing all physicians with competence in demonstrating surgery and dermatopathology to successfully employ the MOHS method.
