Publisher's Synopsis

This highly illustrated book celebrates both the 110th anniversary of the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth and the inauguration of the new building, designed by the famous Japanese architect, Tadao Ando. A wide range of artistic movements is included in the publication, ranging from post war abstract expressionism to pop art and minimalism. The work of 110 artists is presented in the form of a large colour plate and a detailed text entry, together with footnotes and key artist information. In addition a selection of international artists - notably Philip Guston, Anselm Kiefer, Gerhard Richter and Robert Motherwell are presented in the form of extended monographic essays, accompanied by up to eight works, as a reflection of their importance in the Museum's permanent collection. Michael Auping, Andrea Karnes & Mark ThistlethwaitePublished in association with the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth
