Publisher's Synopsis

Mixy is the heart-warming story of a little girl Penguin who lives with her mother (Victoria), father (Graham) and brother (Wendell) on the Northwest side of Antarctica. While she is learning to swim she finds a bright red bow, and like human girls, loves to wear it. One night during a blizzard the wind blows the bow off Mixy's head and she gets lost in the ocean while chasing it. She gets onto a floating iceberg thinking it might be home, but it isn't. Thinking her whole world has disappeared, she soon meets a gray whale (Walter), his wife, (Megan) and son, (Willy). Mixy describes where she lives to them and they take Mixy to where they think her home is, the Arctic. There Mixy meets some new friends, mother polar bear (Aurora), her sons (Kodiak and Juneau) and an arctic snow owl (Albert). Albert figures out that Mixy really lives on Antarctica and comes up with a plan to get Mixy back home. The journey is not without danger. Aurora takes Mixy part of the way, then a new friend (Edward) the blue whale, takes Mixy down passed North America and South America to just above Antarctica. Arty the albatross spots her on Edwards back and tells Mixy's distraught parents, who swim all night to meet her and take her back home.
