Publisher's Synopsis
Mitzi is a puppy who wakens up one morning to find herself in a cage, surrounded by many other dogs also, like her, in cages, and she wonders why. The other dogs explain that when dogs are not wanted by people they are sent to an Adopt-a-Pet Kennel: but, there is always hope that some pet-loving person will drop by. After many days Mitzi feels abandoned and without hope. Then, one day a father and his little son arrive. When the boy looks into Mitzi's eyes and Mitzi looks back there is that moment of magic. And life begins again. Gardiner M Weir and his family lived overseas in different countries in Africa and South America where children's books were not available or TV entertainment in English. Consequently he invented stories to tell his children whenever there was a need to get their attention and good behavior. Gardiner and his wife and family are now happily back in the U.S. where nine of his children's stories have already been published by America Star Books.
