The articles in Issue 4 of the JOURNAL OF INHERITED METABOLIC DISEASE Volume 15 (1992) contain the main lectures presented at the 29th Annual Symposium of the Society for the Study of Inborn Errors of Metabolism (SSIEM), London, UK, which was dedicated to `Maternally Inherited and X-Linked Metabolic Disease' with a half-day workshop on `Mitochondrial DNA'.
The subjects covered include biological aspects of the X-Chromosome, X-linked muscular dystrophy, adrenoleuko-dystrophy, OTC deficiency, X-linked hypophosphataemia, pyruvate dehydrogenase deficiency, immune deficiency and leukocyte killing defects. Participants from many countries provided updates on a wide range of metabolic disorders.
