This volume, the eighth issued under the direction of the Committee on 'library, contains the Minutes of the Right Worshipful Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania, F. And A. M. 1849 - 1854.

The two important events of that period were the reinter ment of the remains of Brother Stephen Girard and the laying of the corner-stone of the new Hall on Chestnut street.
