As chairman, and in behalf of said committee, as well as in accordance with the Spirit and letter of the resolution, I respect fully call your attention to the importance of a revised and uniform system of quarantine laws, for the protection of the maritime cities of the United States from the introduction and spread of disease through the channels of commerce.
