Publisher's Synopsis
The story of a young girl following her meeting with Millroy the magician at a small local circus. He disguises her as a boy and takes her as his assistant on his travels. Gradually, he becomes a messianic figure - a man who can conjure rats out of nowhere, but whose obsession is with America.
