Publisher's Synopsis
I am told that a supposed 'wise man' said: "..of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh." Ecclesiastes 12:12. Ironically, his words are written in a book. That book being the Bible, of course. The Bible is a religious book, among many other religious books and writings. There are an estimated 4,200 religions in the world. One of those, is a religion that I was associated with from birth, Jehovah's witnesses. I'm not going to go into detailed origins, history or beliefs of the 'JWs'. I hope that the following pages will provide all the insights needed. I have included a 'glossary' of Jehovah's witness phrases, words and jargon. To balance this, I have included a glossary of ironic terms often used by non or ex Jws, in relation to the Watchtower corporation. Neither glossary is exhaustive. It would be exhausting to make an exhaustive one. Right from the start, this book is not pushing any religious/atheistic agenda. It simply includes interviews with people associated with Jehovah's witnesses. It is also meant to be humorous and ironic but not malicious. For the interviews, I merely wish to set before the reader, the opinions of people. However, this can be an emotive subject, so expect some open and honest remarks. Therefore, the objective of this work is to give voice to anyone that has had dealings in or out of the Jehovah's Witness faith. 'Diehard and Doubting' are not characters. These cartoons are representative of situations. The other objective is just to enjoy some light heartedness. Read with an open mind. Get your popcorn ready and enjoy! Kind regards, Unky Punky, Cambridge, UK. 2015.
