No longer safe in his own time, Miles travels with his father back to 1863 where he's finally reunited with his family. But all is not well. He soon learns of the bloody treachery that not only led to his untimely rescue from the future but also jeopardizes their mission to defeat an ancient evil that threatens the unwritten future of mankind.
