Publisher's Synopsis
The Office for National Statistics Longitudinal Study (LS) is a population record linkage study containing census and event data for one per cent of the population of England and Wales. This publication is based on a series of papers presented at a one-day LS seminar on internal migration held in London in October 1996. The chapters highlight the many different types of migration analysis that are possible with the data from the LS. Chapter subjects include: migration between metropolitan areas and non-metropolitan areas in England and Wales; migration and household change with particular reference to one -person households; and, the changing composition of the rural population of England 1971-91.
