The novel is about an Arab woman who lives in Austria today. It has left its country not only for political reasons and because of the social grievances that are commonplace there, but above all in order to escape the war. 28-year-old Rita, a young Syrian woman, meets a young Austrian man in a restaurant. From the meeting, a love relationship gradually develops. The book deals with the difficulties that an intercultural relationship entails. Religion, sex, integration ... all these controversial issues will be dealt with. An Arab woman meets a European man, a field of tension that cannot be greater. Religious concepts, fanatical views, strain the path to freedom. The young woman is confronted with a world that turns everything that has been done upside down. And she is curious, hungry for the new life, for the new experiences that are coming to her. Above, Rita plunges into an adventure that takes her along and that is becoming more and more difficult to control emotionally. In the end, Rita faces a world resembling her own, which she wanted to escape. Are the two cultures closer than the young woman has assumed?
