Publisher's Synopsis

Mesquites is a collection of poems that had its origins back in 1966 and has carried on to the present.
Mesquites is about the Author's growing up in the Lower Rio Grande Valley of South Texas.
The poems then follow the Author's college years both in South Texas and East Texas.
During the summer of 1967-1969, Mesquites trailed the Author to Atlantic City, New Jersey where he worked as Cook and Waiter.
The poems continued as the Author spent three years teaching school in South Texas.
Finally, Mesquites tracks the Author through fifteen years as a Social Worker throughout the entire state of Texas.
Included in this collection are poems in English, Spanish, and some in both languages.
Some of the poems deal with people the Author has known or places that he has been. The remainder of the poems simply deal with the thoughts and feelings of the Author.
The poems have been randomly placed in this book and as the reader can tell, they follow no logical sequence.
If just one person reads these phrases and can relate to one poem or even to one line, this collection will have been a success.
