Publisher's Synopsis
This small book contains memories of a Polish soldier who took part in the defensive war in 1939. He was taken prisoner, first by the Russians, then by the Germans, and released home in the winter of 1940. The account is authentic, narrated by my wife's grandfather, who told it in 1990, a few years before his death.
It is an interesting document for anyone interested in the history of World War II. Its great advantage is authenticity - it is a story of a direct participant, not censored, presenting the facts as they were.
