The investigation has been attempted by several physicists, both British and Continental, but the results differ from each other both as regards the actual values and as regards the changes of specific heat with change of pressure and of temperature. Thus some experimenters claim that the specific heat rises and falls with the two factors, and others claim the reverse effects.
