Publisher's Synopsis
This is the story of a young woman's struggle to navigate a completely foreign, and dangerous, environment. Meggan is a teenager, recently orphaned, living on her Great Aunt and Uncle's farm. She is slowly adjusting to country life, but longs for the adventures in the books she is reading. She practices the lives and experiences of her heroes, as an escape from the dreary sameness of the farm. One day, her games go 'sideways', and she ruptures 'time as it has been.' A forest creature tells her she must repair the mistake, or face an uncertain doom. Meggan soon finds herself in Sherwood Forest, facing Robin-i-the-Hood himself. How will she manage? She's a girl in Medieval England, surrounded by outlaws. The forest creature told her to be true to herself, but her first words are lies. She can return to her time, but only if she repairs the rift in history as she knows it.
While she is in Sherwood, she becomes involved in the succession of English kings, and the politics of Normans versus Saxons, as well as the ever-present battle between good and evil. And she becomes involved with a handsome, young Saxon outlaw. Will she succeed in her quest? Will she be able to return to her own time? Will she stay in Sherwood Forest? Only by acting as her nature wills, can she succeed. She may make mistakes, but in so doing she learns the responsibility of mistakes that may hurt others.
