Publisher's Synopsis
This is an introduction to educational and psychological measurement for undergraduate courses that focus on text construction and interpretation. Focusing on tests, technical concerns of measurement are introduced, including quantification and manipulation of scores, evaluation of reliability, and interpretation and use of scores. Part 2 of the text examines measurement construction, beginning with a review of educational decision-making and marking systems. In Part 3, commercially-available instruments are discussed. A final section explores the use of tests for assessing exceptional children and minority students, and discusses current trends in the field.
