About the Author
Max is a fourteen-year-old dachshund who loves peanuts and long naps.
Ruth Calkins was born in New York City in 1927. She is widowed, with five children, and spent a career working for the World Medical Fund. She and Max traveled to Malawi together for the entire summer of 2016.
