Publisher's Synopsis
Join Matthew and his loyal dog, Dodge, when they notice that their new neighbors, from sunny San Diego, have no knowledge about co-existing with the American black bears, native to the Lake Tahoe basin. Instead of contacting the BEAR League of Lake Tahoe, the neighbors contact a state wildlife agency. Matthew is upset when he sees that a baby bear is now trapped in a metal container in the neighbor's yard. He and his mother meet their new neighbors, giving them Bear Safety literature from the BEAR League, and convinced them to have the game warden release the young bear. The neighbors promise that they will never call a state wildlife agency ever again. Should they have a problem with a bear, they will contact the BEAR League, who will advise them as to what to do, or come to their home, avoiding the use of a bear trap.
