Publisher's Synopsis
When Matthew's beloved wife Molly died, long before her time, her son Mark grieved as much as anyone. His mother had been ill ever since Mark was small and both parents had been devoted to one another. Now, at the age of sixteen, Mark tried hard to win the respect of his father by assisting in the family business, but his father was too lost in his own grief. Tilly Povey watched the family with a heavy heart, and Stella, Molly's sister, hoped that Matthew would turn to her in his hour of need. Matthew was gradually falling apart, making Tilly determined to help father and son.
