Publisher's Synopsis

When local newspaper woman, Lori Payton, is assigned to do a story about an upcoming Masquerade Ball, she assumes it is just another fluff piece. She didn't expect to like the widowed model, whose wealthy husband had died years before. Nor did she anticipate being asked to join forces with the woman who wanted to raise money for the local community center. Lori agreed to attend the ball with a young photographer from the newspaper. Out of good humor the two dressed as Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen from the famed Superman series. As she was leaving alone Lori is accosted by a man dressed in a trench coat. Since she left before anyone disclosed who they were, she had no idea who he was. At first it didn't matter, but when she saw him standing outside her house later that night she was concerned. She rests easier after the man leaves. At least until morning when she learns a man in a trench coat was found dead outside the community center where the ball had taken place. She soon realizes she is just one of the suspects.
