Publisher's Synopsis
Four thousand years into the future, near the Martian city of Orkney, Rodin, the Klairn (leader) of the city and his friend, Beaumains, find an abandoned space ship on the Martian sands. Some days later, the pilot is found barely alive on a sand dune. The pilot, Sesom, declares to his rescuers that he has come to save the planet. He is the long awaited Martian Messiah. Soon, he attracts many followers, but then, suddenly, disappears. His beheaded body is later found at an ancient archeological site on the sands. Rodin is assigned the duty of investigating the horrible death and discovers the killer. In his investigations, Rodin and his friends find more dead bodies in a city near the northern Martian polar ice cap. The victims were from an unknown city far to the south. He discovers that the city, Limors, is a violent city where religious factions fight each other for supremacy. Can Rodin survive the violence and solve the murder mysteries?
