Publisher's Synopsis
Marius has always dreamed of 'far islands beneath the wind', and leaves his love Fanny to go to sea. But on his return, he finds that Fanny has married the elderly and kindly Panisse for the sake of her and her son, César. But 20 years later, after the death of Panisse, Marius and Fanny are reunited by their son.
