After retiring from the Marine Corps, Jake knew that the next chapter in his life was in a small, quaint town. It's almost Halloween, so he gets ready for the festivities. In an unlikely encounter, he comes across Lily, a young and shy woman who always leaves her house with her stuffie, Mr. Doggy. It's enough to set off his Little radar.
They have no reason to keep seeing each other, but they still do. Lily's heart is deeply hurt after the loss of her parents, and the only person, other than her family, who knows this, is Jake. As the Daddy he is, he's immediately kind and caring to her, forming a bond that both of them can't resist. Jake can heal her, and Lily can fill the void in his heart.
