Between 1947 and 1961, she appeared in nearly 30 films. Like most actors, she started at the bottom in minor roles. From then on, she was on her way to the top, landing her first leading role in "Don't Bother to Knock" (1952), followed by a lead role in "Niagara," a melodramatic film noir. Over time Monroe demonstrated that she was more than a sex symbol. She had great comedic ability in "Some Like It Hot" (1960) and was more than the "dumb blonde" in "Bus Stop" (1956). Compared to the book's first edition, poster art has been digitally improved for sharper reproductions.
