Language is meant to be used, not obeyed.
Facing imminent defeat during an argument online, the losing party sees the possibility to be crowned (fake) winner by mocking the opponent's speech. But why is it relevant that our linguistic register is less formal, or that we might have a different pronunciation other than the established, or that we might use a different clause than the one generally accepted, or that we use a clause not recommended by language academies? Truth be told, these games are senseless because dictionaries register and describe some uses of the speaker's tongue, and is in their mouths where Spanish really lives.
In A Manual of Incorrect Spanish, Adrián Chávez examines, through humor, those myths regarding linguistic hyper-corrections, power, discrimination, and every ailment that "normativitis" has permeated into the evolution of language, which we all have, (inter)changeably, suffered one time or another.
