"Mami, ¿dónde está mi zapato?" ("Mommy, Where's My Shoe?")

This bilingual (English-Spanish) book of activities accompanies a CD with a collection of twelve original songs in Spanish. The book is for parents and teachers and includes the Spanish lyrics and English translations, guitar chords, movement games, dance and visualization activities. The book's beautiful and playful illustrations comment on the songs and help explain the activities.

The songs and activities are best suited for children ages 0-6, but may also be enjoyed by older children and adults. Simple lyrics and enchanting melodies will appeal to students of Spanish as a second language as well as to Spanish speakers.

This work was published by the Hampton-Brown Company, under the title "Cántame en Español", and distributed to schools throughout the U.S. between the years 1990-2000. It has also been widely distributed in Mexico. It is loved by several generations of children who grew up singing the songs and by the parents and teachers who sang and played with them. Many of them also made up their own games and versions of the songs.

Also by the same author, "Papi, ¡quiero un globo!" ("Daddy, I want a Balloon!"), which together with "Mami", now form the "Cántame en Español Series".

Este libro de actividades bilingüe (inglés-español) acompaña a un CD con una colección de doce canciones originales en español. El libro es para los padres y maestros e incluye las letras de las canciones, sus traducciones al inglés, los acordes para la guitarra, juegos de movimiento, un baile y una actividad de visualización. Las bellas e ingeniosas ilustraciones comentan sobre las canciones y ayudan a explicar las actividades.

Las canciones y actividades son más adecuadas para niños de 0-6 años, pero también pueden ser atractivas para niños mayores y adultos. Las sencillas letras y encantandoras melodías de las canciones gustarán a los niños que aprenden español como segundo idioma, así como a los niños que ya hablan español.
