Mallal's Digest

"Mallal's Digest" is a collection of digests of Singapore and Malaysian law reports. It plays, in the local context, the equivalent role to "The Digest".;The arrangement and classification of titles are similar to those adopted in "The Malayan Law Journal". Titles are prefaced by a short introduction wherever appropriate, to give readers a brief narrative summary of the subject. Cross-referencing is given where the case touches on points of law in other titles or where the main digest for that case appears under a different subject area or title. The Subject Index lists all the subject areas categorized under their respective main titles and shows how the cases have been arranged. Finally, annotations are included where relevant, eg. where a case is no longer law by virtue of subsequent legislative change, or where a conflicting decision exists.;"Mallal's Monthly Digest" is a monthly journal which provides quick reports of recent judgements and constitutes the updating service for the main work. In addition it contains notes on recent statutes and subsidiary legislation from Singapore and Malaysia; a table of cases and statutes judicially considered; cumulative tables of cases and legislation digested; a table of quantum of damages (personal injury or death); a table of progress of Bills/Acts; a table of sentencing decisions; extensive indexes and cross-references; and listing of recent article titles and books.;Each year a supplement is produced which consolidates the digests previously published in the monthly journal under the relevant subject headings to provide a comprehensive record of Malaysian, Singapore and Brunei case law for the year in question.
