Publisher's Synopsis
The 77 poems in Lost & Found are "found poems" or "poems found all around," as the subtitle suggests. Based on letters, emails, books, articles, obits, ads, stray phrases uttered in conversation, they suggest that anything is or can be poetry if we open our ears and eyes and know our craft - the air all around us, the words we breathe, the books we read, the culture (both pop and top) in which we're immersed. One reader has called Lost & Found "A tremendously enjoyable book with wit, ingenuity, radical humor, and humanity throughout." Another cites the poet's "etymologist's delight in digging around in the roots of words, then riffing like a jazz musician or free-style rapper on what he has found. And lost. And helped us all find again."
