It's hard being a writer. Alison Fern is a mystery novel writer, and she's having some trouble. Her first book did pretty well. It's time for the sequel, but she just can't seem to get it written. She's always been a get-it-done type of girl. This writer's block is just destroying that, though.
How hard is it to just come up with the plot? It's impossible, now.
It doesn't help that her boyfriend, Greg, won't leave her be. The whole time she was home, he was leaving her for weeks at a time. But now that she's vacationing on the coast of Portugal, he is constantly calling her.
It's time to take a break, both from Greg's pestering and her writing. Alison walks into town, then to the beach.
