Publisher's Synopsis
If your spiritual practices of prayer, meditation, and Bible study were to be beautifully merged together with your daily life, and your life was to become so filled with love, grace and harmony, would it change your experience of living? Suppose you were told that there is something you can do to become a better, and if not, the best version of who you are today; would you take the challenge to try this something? Can prayer be made living or is prayer alive? Is this an extraordinary experience that only a few chosen or select persons can have, or it is an experience that all people can indeed have on a daily basis? Can you imagine what life would be like if every single person inhabiting earth was a Living Prayer? Perhaps you are wondering how this can possibly happen. St. Paul says it happens when you truly become a living temple of the Holy Spirit and offer prayer without ceasing (cf. 1 Thessalonians 5:16). He adds that you actually do this when you pray and sing with your spirit as well as your mind (cf. 1 Corinthians 14:15), and your praying becomes more organic, spiritually deeper and less verbal. A Living Prayer, speaks less to God, yearns more for God, and feels more in communion with the mysterious presence of GOD. It is a taste of what Enoch had when he walked with God until he was no longer there (cf. Genesis 5:24). It is practically living heaven on earth and having a foretaste of being in the Father's house, in the many dwelling places which the Lord Jesus has gone and prepared a place for you. It is when He comes back and takes you unto Himself, so that you may be where He is (cf. John 14:2-4)! In Living Prayer, you have one foot planted on earth with the other being firmly grounded in heaven. In Living Prayer, you see Heaven from a viewpoint on earth; you feel Heaven in the space of earth; you know Heaven from experiences on earth; you bring Heaven down to earth; and you become a channel of God's blessings here on earth. You do all this for others in as much as you do it for yourself, simply because you are a living prayer. Your days as a Living Prayer are effortless despite the many troubles and tribulations, or trials and temptations (cf. Luke 21:36). Living Prayer identifies truth in each moment, and is set free by this Truth (cf. John 8:32) because Living Prayer is empowered and liberated in the LORD Jesus Christ (cf. John 8:36). Living Prayer is able to differentiate what is real (eternal) from what is a passing illusion; what is truth and what is manifested falsehood. Living Prayer still deals with worldly issues, but is largely detached from their outcomes. Living Prayer has a clear vision of the wiles of evil, which oft times plays itself out in life's dramas, but is quick to dismiss them from the conscience. Living Prayer knows no separation between God and Creation, nor between Heaven and earth. Everyday life is an experience of sweetness, compassion, awareness, love, and joy (cf. Psalm 16:11) because Living Prayer experiences GOD in every moment and never feels apart from Him (cf. Psalm 91:1). Living Prayer is the holy place (cf. 1 Peter 2:5) and the radiant temple of the Holy Spirit (cf. Romans 12:1). Living Prayer sees the light, and no amount of earthly darkness can change this Light (cf. John 8:12). Living Prayer sees GOD all around, and encounters God's presence even in the smallest of things. What Living Prayer does matters and every action taken echoes in all creation (cf. Revelation 5:13). Every prayer lives through, takes form in, and becomes independent from Living Prayer in order to touch others. This book, "Living the Common Prayers: Turning Common Catholic Prayers into Living Prayers" will help you on your journey to becoming a living prayer like Biblical Enoch, like Blessed Mary, and like the Lord Jesus Himself. It highlights the many channels by which Mother Church enables you to grow in your spiritual life. Will you take this challenge and go on to become ONE LIVING PRAYER?
