This book is the fourth in a series of biographies of knights who fought in the Hundred Years' War which began in 1337 and ended in 1453. Sir Thomas Erpingham fought in the Hundred Years' War under King Edward III, John of Gaunt, Duke of Lancaster, and two English Lancastrian kings, King Henry IV, and King Henry V. He played a major role in the victory of England in the Battle of Agincourt, as commander of the longbowmen under King Henry V. He was appointed a member of the Order of the Garter, the most prestigious chivalric order in England. He later served as a diplomat in peace negotiations and became the most influential noble in the County of Norfolk.
