Publisher's Synopsis

Little Black Book began as a series of poems and sketches by hugely talented musician and singer-songwriter Sarah Walk. A graduate of Berklee College of Music, Sarah grew up in Minneapolis but has spent much of the last year living between Los Angeles and London, turning the words so beautifully encapsulated in this book into her debut album with a little help from producer Steve Brown (whose credits include Laura Mvula's Sing to the Moon). Sarah's words are as confessional as they are gut-wrenching and swathed in emotion. In her own words: '...this record is really intended to reveal the different layers of the human heart. It captures the stages of a very dynamic process; figuring out what to make of everything you've built with someone after it's gone. It's a very cathartic process with a lot of different emotions. I'm proud that the record exposes it all and is just as dynamic, honest and raw.' This book, the perfect accompaniment to the album, shows us where the journey started and showcases the beauty of her intimate lyrics, exploring the eternal themes of heartbreak and loss.
