En esta obra, el autor presenta una oportunidad para que el lector se adentre en una cosmovisión diferente a la que todos estamos habituados. Es una invitación para conocer a la comunidad de sordos, sus necesidades, sus problemas, sus logros y su entorno, a través de personas con quienes conviven de manera cercana, como las familias (padres, hermanos, hijos), profesionistas de todo tipo (docentes, médicos, intérpretes) e incluso personas que por primera vez se acercan a este mundo tan sorprendente y tan tristemente ignorado.
