Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from List of Recent Additions to the Library of the Long Island Historical Society, 1881
The exceptions are the Calendars of English State Papers, and the Chronicles and Memorials of Great Britain. More than half of these important publications were received a few years since; both series have now been completed, so far as they have been published, and full lists are printed herein for convenience of reference.
The volumes added since May I are, of course, additional to those referred to in the report of the Board.
It has not been practicable to issue the list sooner, owing to the tardy arrival from Europe of some of the more impor tant volumes all, however, are now on the shelves, and members are invited to call and examine them.
