At sunrise one morning in 1985, Cassandra's mother sends her away with nothing but the business card of a distant relative. By sunset, Cassandra is living with her grandmother Lila Blue in a beach house on the Oregon Coast. During the next several weeks, Cassandra falls in love with her new life in Rainbow Village, a caring community of artisans and eccentrics, where she feels completely at home for the first time in her life.
