Peg Garner Cheadle (1923-2013) grew up on Staten Island, New York. She graduated from Trinity College, Washington, DC in 1944 with a BA degree. She immediately married 2d Lt. Geoffrey Cheadle, newly graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point. Later, after the adventures chronicled herein, Peg graduated from the Virginia Theological Seminary with the degree of Master of Sacred Theology. She also loved to write, and she has published the novel of suspense Murder in Plaid (Heather Hill Press, 2001). May she rest in peace. Geoffrey Cheadle is a retired Air Force brigadier general living at Knollwood, a military retirement facility in Washington, DC. He and Peg Garner Cheadle were married for 69 years.
