Publisher's Synopsis

Carlo Carretto is a Christian spiritualist writer whose sister, Dolcidia, took her own vows as a sister of Maria Auxiliatrice in Turin. This book is a collection of the letters he wrote to her. The letters are personal, affectionate, sincere and factual. At the same time they cover the period when the author discovers himself and his mission in life, via the silence of the desert and in the hard manual labour he undertakes. Carlo Carretto later became a member of the religious congregation of the Little Brothers of Jesus in Algeria.
