Whatever the result may be, no true friend of the Union can de sire to subject it to such hazards; and this'alone ought to be a conclusive ar ament in favour of the reannexation of' Texas. Ne of three results is certain to follow from the refusal of reannexation. Lst. The separation of the South and Southwest from the North, and their reunion with Texas. Or, 2d.
