Publisher's Synopsis
This publication was done in order to expose all writers in the Writers Clinic to new opportunities. The person in charge of the Writers Clinic is Michelle Turnquest. Her aim is to encourage literacy and writing in The Bahamas. The concept is that if teachers, parents and children write books, they will model the ideas for other Bahamians who have a similar talent. The hope is to revolutionize the educational system by having more Bahamian writings and story books. As a result, writing and reading books will increase. Students will want to read what their friends are writing rather than just focusing on books from far away and exotic lands. It is the hope that we can promote more Bahamian stories, we can have more book launches, more reading cafes, more poetic launches, more story telling conventions and more celebrating Bahamian cultural writings.
