Cet ouvrage reprend l'idée première du livre de la Parachat Hachavoua, Tome 1 et 2. Il s'agit de la compilation des informations communautaires distribuées en la synagogue de la rue st-Lazare, Berith Chalom. Le Rabbin Salomon Malka zt'l avait écrit des centaines de paroles de Torah mis à la disposition des fidèles de la synagogue. Les livres précédant étaient la compilation des années 5770 à 5780 que j'ai pu obtenir grâce au concours de mes frères et du président de la communauté.
Mais en fait mon père n'a pas commencé à écrire sur la section hebdomadaire de la torah en l'année 5770, mais bien avant. A cette époque il utilisait un vieil ordinateur et ne savait pas très bien l'utiliser. Ainsi, il n'a pas necessaierement gardé tous les textes qu'il avait écrits, manquant de formation dans le domaine de l'informatique. Cependant, il avait à sa disposition un informaticien. Moi-même. J'avais à une certaine époque récupéré ces fichiers de peur qu'il ne les perde. J'en avais donc fait quelque sauvegarde dont j'avais oublié jusqu'à leur existence. Et puis un déclic est venu. Et j'ai donc fouillé un vieux disque dur, qui contenait une vielle sauvegarde de mon ancien système. Et bingo. J'ai trouvé des fichiers qui portaient le nom de disquette cassé, faisant référence à une vielle clef USB que j'ai dû tenter de récupérer pour mon père. Et ainsi, j'ai pu trouver sur ce fichier et d'autre sauvegarde d'ancien document de mon père qui était donc rangé là-bas.
J'ai donc réservé sur cette ouvrage une place pour la Paracha hachavoua d'avant l'année 5770, remontant à l'anné 5762 et parfois avant. Si mon père avait eu les bons outils à l'epoque où nous vivions à Meudon, à n'en pas douter il y aurait du avoir un nouveau jeu de livre à diffuser. Mais soyons honnête, si mon père ne faisait pas de copier-coller ces dix dernières années, il a pu, par manque de temps, reprendre des textes dans des cycles de 2 ou 3 ans avant qu'il ne se décide de ne plus se répéter. La raison est peut-être la suivante. En rabbin averti et pédagogue, il savait amener les gens à la pratique par l'initiative.
Il avait initié de son propre chef, en surplus de son travail des projets communautaires pour habituer la communauté, puis le projet, une fois qu'il atteignait le coeur des fidèles devenait officiel. Je n'en suis pas sûr, mais il n'est pas courant que chaque rabbin de communauté rédige sur papier une dracha, une explication de texte sur la Paracha, chaque semaine. La plupart des rabbins préparent plutôt le discours de la semaine, et laisse la Paracha écrite aux professionnels de l'édition religieuse; tout le monde n'a pas la fibre littéraire. Mais surement, l'idée d'imposer une étude hebdomadaire mêlant un cours de torah avec les horaires et les évènements communautaires avait germé dans son esprit. Et avant de pouvoir le faire en bon et due forme, il a fallu le faire sur simple feuille A4, et les moyens du bord. Plus tard, cette newsletter communautaire devint plus institutionnaliser, avec une belle photo de la synagogue et une présentation digne.
Le titre de cet ouvrage est avant tout Les fêtes juive, car les fascicules étaient aussi éditer pour les fêtes. J'ai donc réunis tout ce que j'ai pu trouver sur les fêtes, mêlant aux fascicules, des articles qu'il avait écrit par ailleurs pour des journaux ou des conférences à thèmes tournant sur le calendrier juif.
