Publisher's Synopsis
On the road to the town of Torrenth and on the Archduchess' business, the Badd Company are joined by two Mysterious Elves, a noble woman and her elder brother, that are clearly important to Martin. They are in need of aid and Lord Bridges agrees to help after his business in Torrenth is complete. After arriving in the small township, the Badd Company becomes preoccupied with a mystery of their own and find themselves investigating a murder. With that going on and for unknown reasons, the maiden flees into the night with both Martin and Synbadd in hot pursuit; leaving the others and the elf maiden's brother behind and scrambling to catch up. This sets the stage for the Company's encounter with a dangerous band of outlaws that turn out to be far more insidious than first believed. With their Commander, Martin, and the elven maiden missing the rest of the company are forced to go after them. In no time at all, the company find themselves beset upon by bandits that are far more powerful than most cutthroats of that type are. Now it seems they are all facing an enemy neither side had counted on. It's the famous Badd Company versus the sinister group calling themselves the Spider Cult; a far greater threat than any they have faced before.
