This is a Latin text that includes two works attributed to Plato, the Leges (or Laws) and the Epinomis (or Epinomides). The Leges is a dialogue in which Plato explores the question of what constitutes a good law, drawing on examples from various Greek states. The Epinomis is a treatise on political and legal theory, in which Plato argues that the best form of government is a mixed regime that combines elements of democracy, aristocracy, and monarchy. The text is an important source for the study of Platonic political philosophy.
