Patrick Kennedy (1801-1873) was an Irish folklorist and bookseller. He revived and collected the Irish Folklore dealing mainly with the Celtic civilization. He wrote for The Dublin University Magazine under the pseudonym Harry Whitney. His works include: Fictions of Our Forefathers (1859), Legendary Fictions of the Irish Celts (1866), The Banks of the Boro (1867), The Fireside Stories of Ireland (1870), Evenings in the Duffrey (1870) and The Bardic Stories of Ireland (1871).
