Publisher's Synopsis
This text describes successful intervention strategies that have involved restoration of flow in the infarcted artery with thrombolysis or early angioplasty, reduction of left-ventricular loading conditions, partial blockade of neurohormonal activation and, most recently, facilitation of the bioenergetics of myocardium in the peri-infection zone through the use of L-carnitine.;The concept of left-ventricular remodelling after acute myocardial infarction as a dynamic process that can be attenuated by timely interventions with a favourable clinical outcome.
