Publisher's Synopsis

Learn to play bass guitar the easy way, following simple illustrated lessons from all styles of music – from simple rock lines through blues, pop, country, funk, reggae and punk right up to virtuoso jazz standard improvisation techniques.

Lessons start with the basics – how to hold the bass, how to tune it up and start playing – and take the student to a playing level with sufficient skills to join a band.

Each lesson is written in the standard TAB format with easy-to-read rhythm notations, and step-by-step pictures of the correct finger positions. The book also includes a library of scales, giving a wider range of bass notes to play for any given chord.
