Publisher's Synopsis
This book is the third in a three-book series on the art and science of managing an IT company. The first book of the series, Picasso on a Schedule, described a unique IT organizational structure called the Hierarchical Matrix, and defined a framework of repeatable processes for its Matrix (Professional Staff) component. The second book of the series, Managing Picasso, extends the study of the Hierarchical Matrix by describing a framework of repeatable processes for the Hierarchy (Management) component of the structure. Leading Picasso completes the study of the Hierarchical Matrix with a focus on leadership concepts necessary to enable both those in the Hierarchy and those in the Matrix to be successful in carrying out their respective responsibilities. This book explores how leaders can incorporate a blend of art and science to guide and inspire other people to accomplish a desired result through the effective employment of Culture and Vision, enabling their organizations to adapt successfully to changing circumstances.
