Publisher's Synopsis
Tova's life seemed ordinary. She had lived in the same religious community her entire life. When a stranger enters her life and her heart, she and Jakob are immediately thrusted in the chaos of destruction and war. While the Holocaust destroys their entire world, the two find new meanings in life and faith, as they begin their lives anew, amid all of the desolation in its wake. They navigate through their changing and chaotic world, learning new definitions of love, faith, and trust. As they attempt to survive, they know only one fact is true to themselves. They will only be safe in each other's arms. They will only escape as one family. They ask only one prayer of God, if they are to be saved: Lead me to you.
