Lawrence County Historical Society first published this in 1981, using abstracted genealogical notes compiled by Ruth Browning which were then typed into this format by Fred Mieswinkel and indexed by Virginia Schmidt. This publication covers 1876 to 1880 and includes such items as births, deaths, marriages, moves to and from the area, and other information that might help a researcher with family history. (Ex: "Accidental death: trampled by runaway team, a Mr. Clifton of Gibson's Mill, who had but been a short time married to the widow Gibson. He was a Baptist minister." "Died: a child of Mr. John Cole.") Indexed by surname. This is among Lawrence County Missouri Historical Society publications reprinted by the Society in 2018 as Heritage Editions.
