Publisher's Synopsis
"How was the game?" his wife asked him softly as they got ready for bed later that night."Vicious." He told her wryly as he helped her out of her light cotton dress. His touch lingered on her satiny skin and he marveled that after bearing four strapping boys, she still managed to maintain her slender figure. His hands spanned her waist and his head dipped to her stomach. He had sat with her when nausea seemed to get the better of her when she was carrying the two eldest and had worried and prayed when she had stayed in the delivery room for fourteen hours to deliver their first son. He had bargained with God and fervently promised never to get her that way again, only to repeat the same thing a few months after. After their second son, he had tried to persuade his wife to tie her tubes, but she had refused, and the result had been their two youngest. After that, he had put his foot down, after she had started talking wistfully about a daughter. He had been in anguish all four times and had not been willing to go through it again."You enjoy it," She murmured as she ran her fingers through his thick, vibrant curls, closing her eyes as he kissed her stomach. She could not believe a man as handsome and virile as he was could be in love with one woman. She would look at him on the pulpit and felt the fierce possessiveness to realize that he belonged to her."I do," he murmured huskily, placing little love bites on her soft flesh. He had started locking their doors at nights when the boys had figured that they could just barge in whenever they felt like it with every little complaint and had been grateful when Sally had told them firmly to take their complaints to her and leave their parents alone to enjoy some peace. He treasured the times he spent with her, not only making love but having lively discussions about any and everything. He made love to her every night and was fearful at first that he was wearing her out. But she enjoyed him as much as he did her. "But there is something I enjoy a whole lot more.""What's that?" she asked even though she knew the answer"You, my love," lifting his head, he drew her down onto his lap, his arousal already evident. "I will always enjoy you, darling.""I love you so much." Marion whispered huskily as she ran her hands along his stubble. He had to shave every day because of the way the hairs on his face grew in wild abundance. "I love you more my darling," he told her achingly. "Even in heaven, I will know you.""Did God tell you that?" She asked him shakily."He did not have to tell me, darling. Our love transcends time and space and even death." He responded solemnly. "You were made for me as sure as Eve was made for Adam. I will love you in death as well as in life. There will never be anyone else for me but you.""What if I died before you do?""Don't!" he said sharply, his eyes darkening."Answer me, darling. What if I died before you do?""Then I will spend the rest of my life living on the memories of us. No other woman will ever be enough for me.""I feel the same way." She whispered as she bent her head to his. "My love."
